Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to another exciting school year at Swainsboro Elementary School! We are thrilled to have you as part of our SES family and look forward to working together to make this a successful year for every student.
At Swainsboro Elementary, our mission is to provide all of our students with the Power to Succeed by being respectful, responsible, and ready. Our vision is for our students to excel in the positive ABC's of learning: Academics, Behavior, and Character in a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. This will require creating a learning environment that is centered around students, directed by teachers, and supported by home and community.
We believe all students can learn at high levels when provided with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment where students are challenged academically, supported emotionally, and encouraged to become respectful, responsible, and productive citizens.
One of our primary focuses at SES is literacy. Reading is the foundation for success in every subject area, and we are committed to helping all students become strong readers and writers. Throughout the year, students will participate in the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment in the fall, winter, and spring. These assessments help us monitor growth, identify student needs, and adjust instruction to ensure every child continues to move forward.
We also believe that strong character and positive behavior are essential to student success. Our school expectations are simple:
• Be Respectful
• Be Responsible
• Be Ready to Learn
Students are expected to treat others with kindness and respect, follow directions, make good choices, and come to school prepared to learn each day.
Families play a critical role in a child's success. We encourage parents and guardians to partner with us by:
• Ensuring students attend school regularly and arrive on time each day
• Encouraging daily reading at home for at least 15–20 minutes
• Communicating regularly with teachers
• Supporting academic goals and celebrating growth
• Participating in school events, conferences, and PTO activities
At SES, our teachers and staff work collaboratively to provide high-quality instruction and meaningful learning experiences for every student. We believe in setting high expectations, building strong relationships, and creating opportunities for students to reach their fullest potential.
Please remember that students should arrive at school by 8:00 a.m. each day. Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. will be marked tardy. For student safety, photo identification is required when checking out a student, and official car tags must be displayed during afternoon pickup.
Communication is important to us. We will continue to keep families informed through weekly newsletters, Messenger 2.0, our school website, and our social media platforms.
The faculty and staff of Swainsboro Elementary are honored to serve this community. We are committed to meeting each student where they are and supporting their growth academically, socially, and emotionally. With your partnership and support, we know this school year will be filled with learning, growth, and success.
